After a doctor's appointment, I went to the Arboretum. It is lush spring here (Gulf Coast) and I walked among the glittering new leaves and white flowers and purplemazaleas and cardinals. I realized it is spring. And if I don't notice spring...I have a big problem ... "I think God gets pissed off of you walk by the color purple.and don't notice." (Alice Walker)

Lying! Women helping women rest is chef's kiss ❤️ also Tidy ! I went to the doctor finally and had the conversation about my 'anxiety'... Turns out I probably have ADHD and was never diagnosed because, as a female, I just overcompensated to still be successful and never got a proper evaluation. I've just been burning myself out so I'm really loving this self care movement. It really helped with my own insight!

This weekend I'm hoping to go back to the library with my 2 kids again. Last week my daughter got her very first library card and I'm so excited for her to be able to use it!

Reminding myself every day that resisting the urge to doomscroll is good for my health! Taking even short 10 min walks with fresh air and sunshine… every little bit counts!

Lying! Great Friday post! Having a tribe of women to help out when you need a break is a blessing! Inspired by Emily, I will be cozying up with an Agatha Christie book this weekend 💕 It’s the relaxing weekend I need!

"I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it." Alice Walker (oops- I should have looked up the quote before posting, this is he actual one)

To unplug and rest, I’m prioritizing reading more. And I’ve officially been influenced! I’ve picked up a needlepoint project and am enjoying it so much!

I'm trying to read a poem every morning. Also, I changed the password to Instagram to something I forgot instantly and then logged out of it on my phone. I can still check on my computer if I want, but it's been so nice without it always there

I just finished the 4th book in The Thursday Murder Club series. You might have already read these. I never thought I would say this but it's a charming murder mystery series which is just what I needed at this time. Love and thought you might too.

So I finished the book and cannot get over the farewell to one of the characters (no spoilers, I’m sure you know the one). Just bereft!

It was an emotional one! It’s going to be hard to wait until September for the next one. I will check out the library for your recommendation by Stevenson.

I have been getting mine from the library too. Love the library! I just heard the 5th book is coming out in September. I started We Solve Murders by Richard Osman.

Same! I just signed up to be a “friend of the library” because they need every penny these days. Ooooh circle back and let me know if you like it. I’ve really enjoyed the Thursday series so I’m hoping it’s good. If you need another cozy mystery, the Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone books are pretty good.

I’ve committed to reading one book every weekend this year. Which, admittedly, is probably not restful for a lot of people, but I’m prioritizing doing something I actually enjoy (hobbies, anyone??) instead of numbing out in front of the TV/scrolling on my phone. I still do those things, of course - they can be restful in their own way - but my weekends feel so much better when I mix things up a little and engage my brain in a different way.

Lying! Taking walks with friends, now that it's warmer even weeding or pruning or planting seedlings, has been a big boost.
