You have placed in one blog all my raging thoughts of the past several months. I somehow feel calmer now because instead of them bouncing around my brain and irritating my psyche you’ve corralled them into one space. I feel like I can think more clearly now.

The joke about all this masculine energy stuff and how women need to get back in the kitchen all trad wife made-up—in this economy?? Y’all can’t afford that fantasy! That’s for rich people, ya pinecones. Enjoy the muck with the rest of us and make your own damn sandwich.

"Tired women are easier to control." 😳 If that's not a mantra for reminding me to take care of myself, I don't know what is!

The morning that Donald Trump won again, my husband said, "it's like that Bob Dylan song, Everything is Broken." Everything is broken and has been for a long time. I'm in my mid 60s and it feels like we are going backwards, rewinding into the sexism and racism of an earlier century. I'm losing hope, and the energy to fight, but as long as I can think I will resist. My mind is my own.

“We’re tired of being called hysterical for seeing clearly.”

Oh boy do I feel this one. Looking forward to more of your rage, Emily. We need it and to use our own to be the change.

I’m so sorry you felt so threatened by my comment! I hope you get the attention you need to relieve your insecurities☺️

Are you looking in a mirror when you speak of being threatened and insecure?

You still can't see clearly.

Thank you for so clearly putting into words how I'm feeling. The time to rage is now.

My gosh Emily thank you. This perfectly encapsulates everything I’ve been feeling and makes me feel way less alone.

Also, this sentence made me laugh out loud at the sheer ridiculousness of the idea: “The idea that insufficient coddling of male aggression is the genesis of society’s woes is so ludicrious it boggles the mind.”

Thanks for bringing laughter into this too. Happy birthday!

The “masculine energy” gives the same energy as blaming women during a witch trial. Today’s “woke companies” are yesterday’s “a witch ruined my crops”. This is the same old shit in a new design

I love this post, but I do think we should knit. I'm a knitting teacher, and knitting has been used for hundreds of years as a form of political activism, as a form of women gathering to share ideas. From abolition to the pink pussy hats, women have used knitting as a means of calling attention to progressive causes. The perception that it's a "trad wife" thing or something grannies do is misplaced (and you said neither, I'm just reflecting how I see it misunderstood).

I’m just feeling deflated - like we don’t have a way to go on the offensive when half the country wanted this. How do we get our power back when they’re taking our rights away as we speak?

I’ve found an excellent way to “fight back”. Get off social media. No, for real. No endless scrolling. It’s a time waster and a propaganda tool, even if you follow all the right accounts. Don’t give the bro billionaires any more money… and I’m saying this as someone who HAS to be on social media for work

We’re tired but you are correct- no one else is going to save us. We have to keep getting involved in campaigns, elections, initiatives rather than performative signaling.
