Emily! I’m so so happy that your trip to Mayo was worthwhile and hopefully will allow you to not go to the doctor as much soon. That’s such great news. 💗
My gratitude moment—I dressed my 18-month old daughter in a “women in science” toile patterned dress for her daycare picture day. That evening at pick-up, one of her teachers chased me down in the hall to ask where I got it and if it came in adult sizes. She said she had spent her whole lunch break Googling all the women so she would know their accomplishments and contributions to society. I myself am a women in science and this eased so much guilt and worry—to know my daughter has this kind of educator in her very young life who notices, is curious, and is modeling that for my daughter.
Emily, I am beyond grateful that they were able to figure out a health plan for you. Absolutely absurd that it takes the ability to go to such a venerable institution to have access to that information, but really happy that you'll soon be on the path to Fewer Near Death Experiences.
Gratitude wise, I am so proud of my older sister who went after a different job in her organization and was so astounding in her interview, they cancelled everyone else's interviews (I mean, whoops and sorry to those folks) and made her an offer the very next day.
I'm also DELIGHTED by pictures of my younger sister's new puppy named Finn. Pure seratonin, cannot wait to snuggle a good boy.
Emily I’m so glad you finally have some answers, and that it’s good news. Hope there’s more rest and recovery time in your future. Here’s to filling the cup!
As stalkerish as this may sound, I have been thinking about you all day and wondering how you are. I am so happy to read your good news because you certainly more than deserve it! This is such a happy update all around!
On the election front, I want a deep dive on all of these white women he's putting forth since white women are the ones who need to be standing up against him. (sigh)
I'm grateful for a new haircut and the look on my daughter's face when she sees that I went as short as she currently has her hair. I'm grateful for friends who text to check in and to know we have one another's back.
