“Lasting organization comes from calm, intentional choices, not chaos in motion.” ….. well I feel both seen and called out. Honestly, solid life advice here. Just swap “organization” with any giant bucket of life to dos.

The only thing that I think rage or annoyance can help with is knowing when to let go of clothing. If I’m already annoyed, trying on things won’t make my day worse and it will make things that bother me about an item more apparent. Jeans from 2020 and materials I don’t like are so much easier to toss into the donate pile because my feelings are stronger. Rage makes me decisive!

I'm a very organized person and my house has VERY little storage (barely an attic, and no shed or garage). One of my biggest tips is to have a "place" for every single thing that comes into your home, preferably before it enters your home. Works on items big and small. If you don't have a place for it, spend the time and effort figuring out a place or don't get it.

I was on board until "A limit on mugs". You can pry my overwhelming mug collection out of my cold dead hands lol

I’ve been feeling that same urge to spring clean my house, and for much the same reason—a sense of control and feeling of my home as a sanctuary. Appreciate the tips (including the ones I’ve previously had to learn the hard way).

Rage organizing and rage tossing is always what I default to. It's not a great strategy.

Emily, per your Q from this past weekend about what to do w/urns in your back yard so you don’t have to fill them from bottom to top w/soil: Fill them half way up w/stones or rocks . It will make drainage better after you water plants & save on potting soil. Only downside: rocks will make your urns heavy so figure out where you want them so you don’t have to move them after “planting” rocks.
