What is the Timeline for Election Results?

At the bottom of this newsletter I’ve included a detailed list of exactly when key polls are closing, what we should be looking out for and when we can expect to start seeing results.

But first, the most important thing you can do today is make sure that *ALL* of your friends and family have already voted and if not reach out and make sure they have a voter plan.

Someone DM’d me to tell me they found out their cousin hadn’t voted yet and called his mom.  Get Aunty on it!!

Here’s how to check if someone has already voted using our Ripple platform.

1. Go to

https://www.ripplevote.org/

2. Create an account or log back in.

3. Add your contacts and search for them in the voter registration database.

4. When you add your contacts, ripple will tell you if they have voted or not.

5. If they haven’t voted, Ripple will help you develop a vote plan for them – you will see information like their polling locations and hours for early vote and Election Day, where to access a ballot drop box, and voter registration information if the deadline hasn’t passed.

6. Text your contact and give them all the information you found about a potential vote plan.

I got a lot of questions about a timeline of what to look for tomorrow.

In 2020 it took four days for the AP to call the election for Biden, in 2016 it took one day for the AP to call it for Trump. One thing to be mindful of is that there will likely be a red mirage during the day. This is because Democrats are more likely to vote early and by mail and Democrats are often in larger cities that take longer to count. Here’s a chart on how long it took the AP to call various states. (The column “AP Call”)
