BREAKING NEWS

Trump named Susie Wiles as his White House Chief-of-staff. This is going to be a rude awakening to the wellness girlies who think the Trump administration actually supports their MAHA ideas of taking down Big Fruit Loops. Suse Wiles represents just the first of the cards that will topple here for those in the wellness to rightwing pipeline.

Wiles is a literal corporate lobbyist who was working for a tobacco company just earlier this year. Her firm, Mercury, has large lobbying contracts with several junk food companies like Kellogg’s, high fructose corn syrup sauce maker Kraft-Heinz, and Nestlé SA.

This definitely doesn’t vibe with the wellness girlie agenda of making America’s cereals more healthy.

Republicans are excited about the choice; “In a flurry of social media posts by Floridians, Sen. Rick Scott called her a “true leader” and a “brilliant tactician.” State Sen. Joe Gruters called Wiles “first class.” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna called her “amazing” and an “absolute 10/10 pick.” Sen. Marco Rubio called her a “strong, intelligent woman.””

Happy news:

Research shows that planning a trip increases your happiness, and I totally agree.  I’m starting to think about what I’m going to do for my winter holiday.  If you want to find out what I did last year and get some inspo, here’s my dream winter Scotland itinerary.

Amanda Litman over at Run for Something wrote a post-mortem on state level wins.

Shannon Watts and Jessica Yellin did a video chat where they discuss the election, the importance of women running for office, how Republicans are changing the election playbook, whether there was cheating, and how we can move forward from here.

What you might have missed:

If you are still in your feels I found you some links and did a podcast episode which some have called a “balm.”

I published a rant on what to expect from the Republican trifecta.  Republicans, by the way, are still on track to win the house. They have 214 wins to Democrats 203, you need 218 to win the House. Republicans are on track to win 8 more seats, 5 of which are highly probable.

I wrote about what Project 2025 actually has in store for the Wellness agenda.

My Prescription:

Every liberal commenter (and it feels like every man) on the internet has done theirs and a lot of them are just pointing fingers. Here is my prescription for the Dems filled with actual ideas for things the entire Dem ecosystem needs to do.
